This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit https://localb.ca/ (the “Site”) or make a purchase there.
PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
COOKIES
Here is a list of cookies we use. We’ve listed them here so that you can choose whether to allow them or not.
- _session_id: A unique session identifier that allows Shopify to store information related to your session (referrer, landing page, etc.).
- _shopify_visit: No data retained, persists for 30 minutes from the last visit. Used by the internal tracking system of our website provider to record the number of visits.
- _shopify_uniq: No data retained, expires at midnight (based on visitor location) the next day. Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.
- cart: A unique identifier that persists for 2 weeks and stores information related to your shopping cart.
- _secure_session_id: A unique session identifier.
- storefront_digest: A unique identifier, undefined if the store has a password, used to determine if the current visitor has access.
- LOG FILES: Log files track activity on the Site and collect data such as your IP address, the type of browser you use, your Internet Service Provider, the pages you refer to and exit from, and your timestamp data (date and time).
- INVISIBLE PIXELS: Invisible pixels, tags, and pixels are electronic files that record information about how you browse the Site.
Furthermore, when you make or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information about you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. This automatically collected information is referred to as “Order Information.”
When we refer to “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are referring to both Device Information and Order Information.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Generally, we use the Order Information that we collect to process any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you;
- Screen for potential fraud or risks; and
- When in line with the preferences you’ve shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information (particularly your IP address) that we collect to screen for potential fraud or risks and, more generally, to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics on how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our advertising and marketing campaigns).
We share your Personal Information with third parties who help us use it as described above. When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
